In 1982, while still in school, I began working with my dad in general construction whenever my schedule would allow it. We did just about everything — including stacking building materials and cleaning up parking lots after deliveries to full-blown, on-site construction clean-up work.

After graduating high school, I got a job in construction with La Mancha Development. They had multiple commercial projects under construction — including shopping centers (strip malls) throughout the Inland Empire and Los Angeles. Their projects ranged from commercial buildings and track homes to custom homes. You name it, they built it. My motto back then was simply: “Get experience and exposure — whenever and wherever.” I wanted to learn more and gain insights into the business.

My goal was to move up and, ultimately, become one of “them” — an independent contractor. In pursuit of my goal, I began working for R-C-K Enterprises. They specialized in building beautiful custom homes ranging in size from 3,500 to 14,0000 sq, ft. And these were truly amazing homes. In fact, many of these “estates” actually had their own tennis courts, indoor swimming pools, movie theaters, and even helicopter landing pads!

Moving forward working, I then went to work for Silverado Construction and Rancho Framing and, somewhat later, KB Homes, where I was able to gain even more valuable experience building residential tract homes.

Finally, in 2004, as an independent contractor, I began providing construction, demolition and construction-related services for the City and County of Riverside. The scope of our services range from renovating and/or relocating historic old homes to the demolishing residential and commercial buildings, abatement compliance and others projects. Thanks to the quality of our work, we continue to be an “approved” service provider to cities and counties within the Inland Empire.

But best of all, now three generations strong (including my father, my son, myself and other family members), Exclusive Construction continues to grow and thrive as one of the Inland Empire’s most trusted family-owned construction companies.
